Normally I reserve my ‘holy shit’s for bands flying down the heavier slide of music but this band just pulled it out of me.
The Wooden Sky is a really great band from Toronto, Canada that would be listed under something resembling ‘folk-rock’ but really, the term doesn’t do justice to the band’s sound and overall ambition. They formed back in 2003 as Friday Morning’s Regret and only recently in 2007 became known by their current name.
The band’s second full-length album, “If I Don’t Come Home, You’ll Know I’m Gone” is quite a piece to behold. With the help of many of the band’s friends and acquaintances, The Wooden Sky have constructed quite a breathtaking album.
Here’s a track off of the album titled “Something Hiding For Us In The Night”. Immediately after pressing play, as the drum beat begins to resemble that of your heartbeat, you’re treated to the most soothing vocals ever to come out of our neighbors to the north. Have a listen and enjoy your evening.
